One standard stoplist

The Johannus LiVE 2T-A and 3T-A are high-quality digital organs that allow you to play dozens of international pipe organs. Both organs are equipped with a standard stoplist. The LiVE 2T-A features 44 stops, and the LiVE 3T-A has 52. However, there is something extraordinary about their stoplists...

Cross-section of international pipe organs

We developed the fixed stoplists based on a sophisticated cross-section of pipe organs from around the world. We analyzed the stoplists of dozens of international pipe organs and identified which stops occurred most frequently among these organs. These included stops such as the Principal 8’, the Flute 4’ and the Trumpet 8’. We gave these stops a place in the standard stoplist of the Johannus LiVE 2T-A and 3T-A, and you find their names on the illuminated stop tabs.

Dynamic stops

Although the stoplists of the Johannus LiVE 2T-A and 3T-A are physically static, they’re dynamic in their use. Behind the stoplists, dynamic stops are concealed. These stops change according to the pipe organ you’ve selected, and are always closely related to the stop indicated on the tab. For example, the Principal 8’ stop tab can represent both the Montre 8’ of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Greeley, Colorado, USA, and the Open Diapason 8’ of the Hill & Sons organ from the Holy Name Church in Manchester, England. When a stop tab is tapped, the display shows the original name of the stop on your selected pipe organ.

Authentic, professional recordings

On your Johannus LiVE 2T-A or 3T-A, you can upload sample sets for dozens of international pipe organs. These sample sets have been developed specifically for this purpose and are uploaded into the digital organ using a USB stick containing the authentic, professional recordings of a specific international pipe organ. The sample sets contain a large number of unique stops for each of the organs. Additionally, a number of selected stops from the extensive Johannus sample database have been added. As a result, each sample set for the Johannus LiVE 2T-A contains exactly 44 stops, and each sample set for the 3T-A contains exactly 52 stops. The majority of these stops come from the original pipe organ, the others are supplementary stops in the spirit of, and complementary to, the character of the selected pipe organ.

Innovative solution

Thanks to the dynamic stoplist, dozens of international pipe organs can be played using one standard stoplist. This technological innovation is one of the defining features of the Johannus LiVE 2T-A and 3T-A and helps us place the pipe organ within everyone’s reach.

1. You’re choosing a true Johannus

Johannus has been recognized as a source of reliable products since 1969. All products are conceived and designed by Johannus itself and delivered at an accessible price. For decades, Johannus has been widely acclaimed for its phenomenal sound. The Johannus LiVE 2T-A and 3T-A are fully in line with that tradition.

2. You’re choosing dozens of true-to-life pipe organs and additional stops

Our audio professionals use sophisticated equipment and their own completely unique method to make faithful recordings of the stops of dozens of pipe organs. We made a basic selection of stops from the original stoplists of each individual pipe organ and supplemented them with matching stops from their sample library. Each sample set for the Johannus LiVE 2T-A and 3T-A is composed of 44 and 52 stops respectively. You have the option of storing five different sample sets in the organ. With the touch of a button, you
switch quickly and effortlessly from one stoplist to another. If you’d like to play more than five sample sets, that’s also possible. You can order additional sample sets at your local Johannus dealer.

3. You’re choosing unparalleled reverb experiences

How a pipe organ sounds, depends largely on where you are within the church. The organ sounds different when you’re seated at the manuals, then it does in the back of the church. For the Johannus organs, the reverb has been sampled from four different positions in the church, offering four different reverb positions per sample set: on the organ bench, about ten yards from the organ front, in the middle of the church, and at the back of the church. Choose your own reverb experience and enjoy!

4. You’re choosing an organ that always works

The Johannus LiVE 2T-A and 3T-A are organs built by Johannus. Among other things, that means that when you turn the organ on, it actually starts. Every time. That’s characteristic Johannus quality. The integrated hardware is aligned to work in perfect harmony... And it does. Every time. We can’t emphasize that enough.

5. You’re choosing an organ that can be played immediately

The Johannus LiVE 2T-A and 3T-A use sophisticated equipment and systems. That cuts the start-up time of the Johannus LiVE 2T-A and 3T-A to the bare minimum. Press a button and you’re immediately in the Trinity Episcopal Church in Greeley, Colorado, USA... As far as your ears can tell, anyway!

6. You’re choosing an organ that switches rapidly between sample sets

Thanks to the Direct Streaming technology, you can switch between different sample sets very quickly. That’s because the organ uses solid state technology, sophisticated processors and an extremely large working memory.

7. You’re choosing the latest technology

The motherboard and the smaller computer boards of the LiVE 2T-A and 3T-A have all been redeveloped to optimize the speed and capabilities of the organ.

8. You’re choosing the latest software

Our R&D department has worked hard for years to develop new software needed to operate the hardware. The result is a resounding success. The sound engine at the heart of the organ and the LiVEreverb II system have been completely revamped. The Johannus LiVE 2T-A and 3T-A also use new operating software and an updated digital audio mix . Next to that, our familiar voicing software has been reprogrammed too.

9. You’re choosing high-quality samples

The Johannus LiVE 2T-A and 3T-A use very large samples for each key. These samples have been recorded using high-quality equipment. Each sample lasts for several seconds, making the tone exceptionally pure and authentic.

10. You’re choosing certainty and a solid warranty

The Johannus LiVE 2T-A and 3T-A have been conceived and produced by Johannus. If there is anything in your organ that falls short of your expectations, you can always contact us. You can rely on our international service network and decades of experience. Naturally, we offer you the same warranty as we provide for our other organs.

11. You’re choosing the future

The Johannus LiVE 2T-A and 3T-A assure you of years of musical enjoyment. The number of pipe organs with additional stops from which you can choose increases constantly. You can keep your various sample sets in a compact storage case which comes with your organ when you buy it. Over time, you’ll be able to assemble an impressive library of the most beautiful pipe organs.
