A new Johannus organ has recently been installed in the St. Nikolaus Parish Church. For this Catholic church, we were honoured to realise a Johannus Ecclesia T-255: a solution carefully suited to the liturgy, the space, and the character of this historic parish church.
The new organ was installed on the organ gallery. For the audio setup, the parish chose a smart and practical solution. The loudspeakers were placed in specially made cabinets featuring a traditional pipe façade. Speaker cloth printed with an image of organ pipes was used, giving the installation the appearance of a traditional pipe organ façade from a distance. A creative and affordable solution that blends surprisingly well with the church interior.
The choice for Johannus was not made by chance. Within the same parish, a Johannus Monarke organ has already been in use for many years in another church. The positive experiences with that instrument gave the parish confidence to choose Johannus again when it became clear that the existing organ needed to be replaced. Together, we searched for a solution that carefully fits the character and possibilities of this historic church.
On May 26, the installation and voicing were successfully completed. As a result, the Katholische Kirchengemeinde St. Nikolaus can once again enjoy beautiful organ sounds during the liturgy and other musical moments in the church.
We sincerely thank the parish for their trust and wish the organists, choir, and parish community many years of musical enjoyment with this new instrument.
