Jesus, meine Zuversicht - Wilhelm Rudnick (1850-1927)

This rather unknown composer studied in Berlin and became an organist, music school teacher and conductor. He left us some 60 Choralvorspiele as well as 5 Organ Sonatas.

This month, we have an arrangement on a chorale for Easter, played with a fortissimo sound. The melody is on the pedalboard. You can also decide to play this with a double-pedalboard. You’d probably then also opt for 1 or 2 reeds. If you do this, we recommend keeping the registration of the manuals transparent.

We also offered an arrangement of this hymn in March 2011, composed by a contemporary of Rudnick, namely August Grüters (1841-1911). Both arrangements sound perfect played one after the other.
