Musical contribution - February 2026

In June 2013, we previously offered a composition by Wely. For more information about him, I kindly refer you to this sympathetic Frenchman.

This Communion opens with a chorale-like melody. In bar 29, a new theme emerges with a solo voice. This develops in bar 53 into sustained chords with a walking pedal line, before returning to the opening chorale.

Registration ideas:

Chorale
Only 8’ stops / 8’ + 4’ / or broader with 16’.
Solo voice
For the solo melody, I would certainly use a reed stop.
Moving pedal
The sustained chords can be played on the manual of the solo voice, including the reed.
This can also be done using the accompaniment registration of section 2.
Chorale (closing)
As the first time — or slightly larger or smaller.
